Meet the Saros Rover

Roborock has unveiled what it claims is the world’s first “two-wheel-leg” robot vacuum, revealing the futuristic device at CES 2026. The breakthrough design could finally solve one of robot vacuums’ biggest challenges: stairs.

According to Roborock’s press release, each wheel-leg is capable of independent movement, providing reach, lift and height while mimicking human mobility. This allows the robot to raise and lower each leg separately, perform small jumps, make agile turns, stop suddenly and change direction with precision.

On the software side, the Saros Rover uses AI-driven algorithms, advanced motion sensors and 3D spatial mapping to analyse its surroundings and respond in real time.

Importantly, this is not a concept model. Roborock confirmed the Saros Rover is a real product currently in development, although no launch date or pricing has been announced.

The question now is whether this represents the next major leap forward in home robotics — or an ambitious over-engineering of a household appliance.
